A website is a collection of information organised in such a way that the visitor can make use of. It is also called “web site” or “site”. Websites have many functions and can be used in various fashions; a website can be a personal website, a commercial website, a government website or a non-profit organization website. Websites can be the work of an individual, a business or other organization, and are typically dedicated to a particular topic or purpose.

Static websites provide information to the user about an individual, service or products available. 2.  Dynamic / Ecommerce websites:

Apart from providing information, these sites can go one step further in taking payment, providing information selectively as per the customer needs etc. For e.g Online shops(e-commerce sites) can list and sell products to customers by taking money from them. Hotel booking websites are also an example of dynamic sites.
